Construction Staking Along I-94
Casselton to Wheatland, North Dakota
Project Details:
The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) is in the midst of an ongoing
program to rehabilitate the aging Interstate highway system. Most of the Interstate
highway system was originally constructed in the 1950s and 1960s and has reached the
end of its service life.
Houston Engineering provided the NDDOT with construction staking services for this
seven and a half-mile long Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) reconstruction project.
This project affected the westbound lane of Interstate Highway No. 94 from the Casselton,
North Dakota interchange to one mile west of the Wheatland, North Dakota interchange.
Houston Engineering provided project control, profiled the existing pavements, and provided
grade and alignment staking for the mainline section and the ramp connections. Houston also
completed topographic surveying and calculations to determine quantities for the project.
Project Benefits:
- Accurate, efficient, and timely construction staking services
- NDDOT and the contractor were able to meet the project plans, specifications, and deadline
- Safer, more efficient travel between Casselton and Wheatland
