Houston Engineering, Inc. - Leave Nothing To Chance

Evergreen Meadows Subdivision
Moorhead, Minnesota

Project Details:
G & G Farms is located in the rapidly developing area south of Moorhead, Minnesota. The farm owners were interested in converting the agricultural property for residential use. Houston Engineering assisted Gust Johanson and the city of Moorhead in the design and construction of water, sanitary, and street improvements in addition to a regional detention pond.

Houston Engineering prepared plans and specifications, and provided construction supervision for portions of the water, sanitary, and street improvements for the 50-lot subdivision included in Phase I of the project. The project consisted of:

  • Extending the city’s water and sanitary sewer capabilities into the development

  • Creating asphalt surfaced streets with an allowance for paving in the near future

  • Providing surface drainage through master planned storm sewer improvements, including a regional pond that will serve both this and future development

  • Controlling pond elevation by a new lift station that discharges to the county ditch system

Project Benefits:

  • An efficient and aesthetically pleasing regional storm water pond with shared use path

  • 50 large residential lots with options for traditional and twin home style housing

  • A substantial developmental upgrade realized by the city of Moorhead

  • Water, sanitary, and street improvements that provide for future expansion and upgrades

“What I like most about working with Houston Engineering is that they take care of you. They understand the details and track them. They are conscious of the bottom of line and keep within the cost proposal. When they work with the city, I know they will get it done right on time and on budget.”
